Q2 XR REPORT: XPERIENCES & REFLECTIONS

From Smart Glasses to Shopware Cocktails:

This quarter, Dopple hit the road (and the airwaves) to stay ahead of the commerce curve. We showed up at partner events, design markets, XR expos, and brand summits to connect with the retailers and platforms shaping the future of product experience.

It became clear that brands are hungry for immersive tools that simplify the complex and elevate the buying journey.

Here’s what we learned and where we showed up in Q2.

 

Shopware Partner Day

📍 April 2025 - Chicago, IL

Why We Attended

We joined Shopware’s Annual Partner Day to support one of our key platform partners and align on strategy for the year ahead. With shared focus areas like regulated commerce and complex B2B buying, this event was an ideal moment to sync.

Key Themes & Takeaways

  • Experience-led commerce is growing, especially for regulated, multi-channel categories like firearms and marine.
  • Omnichannel tools are critical for brands in complex industries. Variability in buying experience matters more than ever.
  • Dopple’s ICP overlaps almost perfectly with Shopware’s. A match made in heaven.

Dopple Highlights

We helped close the night in style, cosponsoring the afterparty and debuting the “Doppleganger,” a custom color-changing cocktail that had the room buzzing about immersive experiences and transformations.

 

High Point Market

📍 April 2025 - High Point, NC

Why We Attended

High Point is where the home furnishings world meets to set trends, strike deals, and showcase product design. We attended to connect with brands in the home vertical, explore how economic shifts are impacting go to market, and deepen relationships in a historically offline category.

Key Themes & Takeaways

  • Tariffs and economic shifts are driving demand for digital content and reducing dependency on physical samples and photoshoots.
  • Brands are pushing for sustainable materials and flexible product options, but many are still drowning in SKU overload.
  • A major disconnect persists between physical showrooms and online storytelling (a huge opportunity for 3D content and immersive merchandising).

Jeremy had extended conversations with executives from some household names in furniture, and noted a growing appetite for tools that simplify content pipelines and support complex product lines.

 

BigCommerce Partner Kickoff & Awards

Why We Attended

We joined this strategic session to align on B2B and composable commerce goals for the rest of 2025. This also coincides with Dopple’s flagship BigCommerce project launching this quarter (hello Copper Hoods).

  • BigCommerce is leaning hard into B2B growth, with a focus on industries like HVAC, auto, tools, and health & beauty.
  • Composable architecture and modular integrations are central to their go-to-market.
  • Digital maturity came up multiple times. Many traditional merchants are finally investing in digital experience platforms.

League Summit Austin

Why We Attended

We sponsored League Summit as a tech leader in ecommerce experience. With a strong presence of DTC and 2A brands, it was the perfect event to connect with brand builders thinking deeply about retention, content, and loyalty.

We had meaningful 1:1s about immersive merchandising for both B2B and premium DTC brands. Also: yes, we wore denim to the Canadian tuxedo-themed bar party.

 

AWE (Augmented World Expo)

Why We Attended

Dopple's product guru Bryan attended AWE to absorb cutting-edge research and product developments across XR, AI, and spatial computing, helping guide our roadmap in a fast-evolving space.

  • AI + XR are colliding in powerful, purposeful ways. No longer gimmicks, but productivity tools.
  • Wearables like smart glasses are crossing the threshold into all day usability, enabling real world applications like AR guided cooking or translation.
  • 3D Commerce standardization is accelerating, with the Khronos Group leading best practices for formats, fidelity, and configuration.

We connected with tech leaders and joined deep discussions on the role of semantic tags so AI, LLMs, and XR can leverage 3D product context for next-gen commerce. 

 

Cross-Event Trends We’re Tracking

  1. Composable Commerce = Table Stakes
    Across Shopify, BigCommerce, and Shopware events, one message kept surfacing: brands want flexibility. Platforms are shifting away from rigid architectures and toward modular, composable ecosystems. This opens up opportunities for Dopple as a plug-and-play visual layer that adds immersive, conversion driving experiences to any stack without disrupting existing workflows. Our API-first model is not just compatible with this shift, it’s built for it. 
  2. Complex Product Catalogs Are Creating Pressure
